[The yellow-gold of Anakin's eyes is the color of mad ambition - a perfectly fitting concept for a Noldor and a Fëanorian. He would understand the lure of the Silmarils; he would understand why Maedhros and his brothers sought them so voraciously. There are things - dreams and ideas - that are worth every sacrifice. Sanity too can be disposed of if necessary; it only tends to hinder great ambitions anyway.

He lays his mechanical hand on Maedhros's arm, pleased that he need not have to hide it or keep it at his side.]

Would you rather I say I'm the best? [He has yet to meet anyone with his skill in repairing and building. But he knows enough to not sound too cocky. Just cocky enough.

His eyes glow at the story and he scowls, angered on Maedhros's behalf. Who would have the gall?]

I don't think you and I are so different. [Anakin sometimes thinks he will choke on his anger and yes, there is far too much pain in his heart. It has been that way since he lost his mother.] Let me see what was done to you.

[He moves to undress Maedhros, rolling easily to lay on his back under the Elf. The hand against his skin has him exhaling in delight and he kisses over the pointed ear, nipping at it lightly.]

{Anakin doesn't need to hide anything from this Elf. Maedhros has learned that everyone needs to have an outlet. Someone to not hide from. He'd always had Maglor, but now he doesn't.

Now, he seems to perhaps have Anakin, a strange, fascinating Man, who he feels a resonance with. He's even told him something of himself that he rarely speaks of. And his right arm, which he uses only out of habit or necessity, isn't stationary any more than Anakin's mechanical hand.}

In my experience, it would not be a lie.

{Seeing that fury - on his behalf - warms him and he kisses him softly in thanks. Maedhros holds himself up, allowing himself to be undressed. To be bared before this Man's gaze, to see the terrible marks on his once perfect body. Part of him waits for disgust.

But the nip to his ear earns a soft moan, neatly distracting him.}

[ It's some time before Luke can find it in himself to take some kind of action outside of himself. Looking inward for answers got him nowhere, and he felt just as helpless and lost as he had when a man in a mask had uttered words that changed his perception of everything he knew for certain. All he knew at the moment was that guilt was starting to claw at the back of his mind, annoyingly so. ]

[ Not that he had the courage to act on it outside of a text message. ]

[The words have been greatly anticipated and feared. Anakin has failed Luke by not being the father he deserves and, surprisingly, he has been thinking over his decisions. Where did he go wrong? Can he turn back? Sidious must be destroyed; that much he knows. But what then? Will he be the sort of Emperor that the galaxy needs? Does the galaxy need an Emperor?

He has been on the move since their confrontation, unable to stay still; unable to stomach his confusion and his guilt. Now he has to stop and think. Not just react. He has never been very good at that sort of thing.]

[He might have to talk to Anakin, but sure as hell he's not going to be nice about it. So the text comes in the very early hours of the morning on a Monday, because Han is just that much of a petty little shit sometimes.]

Anakin...I - {coward} Are the mirrors and all...anything that reflects...are they covered? In your house.

{He hears the chink of chain even without seeing the delightful images dancing around.

[The mirrors can't really show him anything he hasn't already seen in his dreams. Unlike others - unlike poor Maedhros - Anakin isn't terribly upset. It's just more of the same for him.]

It's alright, Maedhros. I know what I'll see. [But he frowns at his friend's broken words.] Where are you?

He's not going to let himself show the slightest bit of fear. He was a high-ranking First Order officer in his own right, he had taken out a regime using a power even the Emperor hadn't possessed.

I hope, perhaps, once I have spoken with them together, it might be possible to arrange a family dinner for all four of us.

[After weeks of presents that could only be left by one person, Padmé knows that she can't avoid the inevitable any longer. Her instincts and normal behaviors are usually the most correct. And what she's been doing since her arrival is hiding.

Something she deplores. Something she's railed against numerous times since her foray into the political arena.

So, she decides to take the krayt dragon by the horns and sends Anakin a text message.]

[He is so amazed upon seeing this text that he can't seem to think of the right words. But that has always been more her forte.]

That's interesting. I can't say I want to be part of the government, but if that's what it takes to get our hands on it -

[Since Ren had simply vanished when he had turned his back for a moment, there had been no sign of him anywhere. Hux had searched everywhere he could think of once he found the trackers weren't registering anything. He wasn't at the house, he wasn't at the cafe- Hux had even pulled up the tracking data he had saved to his datapad to look at locations Ren frequented.

That was what had let him to the cave with the kyber crystals. He had seen the location many times on the tracking map when Ren went here but he had never suspected that this world had kyber crystals. He knew their power and their potential.They were also incredibly dangerous.

That didn't stop him from picking crystals, wrapping them carefully in his handkerchief and slipping them into a coat pocket. He thought that would summon Ren, apparently, Force users could hear the crystals or something but there was nothing. He waited at home for hours, crystals in one hand while staring at his datapad as he tried to figure out his next steps. He had to remain composed, he had to-

3 a.m. found him at Anakin's door, his coat wrapped around himself as he struggled to take a deep breath. If anyone could find Ren, it would be Anakin. He knocked on the door loudly, trying not to pound on it but he would be alright with Vader coming to the door if that found Ren.]

[The pounding interrupts bad dreams. For a moment, Anakin thinks it is part of his dreams. He sits upright in bed, breathing out roughly. Kylo had been beside him, smiling and laughing. Then he had been swallowed by the Dark, tendrils of shadows wrapping around him and -

He had looked so frightened and there was nothing Anakin could do for him. On the tail of Obi-Wan being killed, this is...

Not good news. I have a bad feeling about this.

Swinging himself out of bed, Anakin attaches his mechno-arm, clicking it into place before he tugs on a shirt. He glances at Padmé's slumbering form and walks quickly from the room to answer the insistent knocking. Quickly he unlocks the door upon reaching it, opening the barrier to see Hux looking...frantic.]

[So much has happened in such a short space of time that it takes him a moment to remember...

Kylo Ren. His black gloved thumb caresses the words and his mechanical breathing is calmer.]

[He could try to dissuade him from seeing him like this, but there really is little point. Kylo knows what he becomes, however Vader is not the emotionless servant of Palpatine yet. He is...Anakin. But he can't stand to be Anakin. All he knows is pain.]
